Farmer's Story
Buenavista, our cherished family farm, is nestled in the verdant hills of Charco Negro, within the municipality of Suaza. It was here that I grew up under the watchful guidance of my father, learning the intricate art of coffee cultivation and care. Today, the farm spans four hectares and is home to 13,000 coffee trees, predominantly of the Caturra variety. Situated at an altitude of 1,475 meters above sea level, this land has been the foundation upon which I have built a life for my family, composed of my six children, my wife, and myself.
Nearly all of my children have followed in my footsteps, embracing the world of coffee cultivation. One of them, for instance, now tends to her own thriving plantation of 14,000 coffee trees, gradually building a prosperous future for her household. I have endeavored to pass on a portion of the inheritance that was once bestowed upon me, and I consider myself truly fortunate that my children have embraced this legacy with open arms.
Throughout the years, I have been committed to cultivating my farm in the most sustainable and responsible manner possible, with a keen focus on preserving the environment. My thirst for knowledge remains unquenched, as I continue to study and learn new techniques to further improve our practices.
Every bean that grows on the lush slopes of Buenavista carries with it the essence of our family's dedication and love for the land. As we continue to nurture our farm and share its bounty with the world, we look forward to the future with hope and pride, knowing that our legacy will endure for generations to come.
